The Lake Erie Monsters fans took yet another arrow to the heart Wednesday evening at Quicken Loans Arena, this time watching their Monsters lose at home to the Houston Aeros 2-0. In a hard hitting defensive struggle, Houston opened up a 1-0 lead on a five-on-three goal less than seven minutes into the first period. Ryan Hamilton was credited with the goal, and assists registered to Awe and Payer. The goal looked like it might be the icing on the cake as neither team really got much going offensively all night. For the game, the Monsters had twenty five shorts on goal to the Aeros twenty four. The scoreless drought went for forty plus minutes, as the first period closed 1-0 and the second period also yielded no movement on the scoreboard.
