Tim Howard had to watch on TV as his former teammates hoisted the biggest prize in club football, after his replacement as Manchester United goalkeeper made a winning penalty kick save. It could easily have been Howard -- not Edwin van der Sar -- in the starring role in last month's Champions League final, where United beat Chelsea in a shootout on a rainy night in Moscow.
