Starter Jake Westbrook was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a pulled muscle in his side Tuesday, more trouble for the struggling Cleveland Indians.
Westbrook, one of the few players the defending AL Central champions could count on so far this season, is 1-2 with a 2.73 ERA. This will be his fifth career trip to the DL.
The Indians have lost eight of 11 as they open a three-game series in Kansas City. Cleveland's offense has been awful as the club is batting an AL-low .235.
