Three years ago, Shonn Greene was a red-shirt freshman running back at Iowa. He and Albert Young formed a potent duo that led Iowa to the OutbackBowl against Florida. His career was only going up. In his sophomore year, he helped Iowa and Albert Young to the Alamo Bowl against a struggling Texas team.
But, in 2007, Greene took a turn for the worst. He was dismissed from the team for violating team rules, and spent a year at a Junior College refining his skills not only on the field but in the classroom. Iowa used a red-shirt on him and brought him back after the 2008 Spring Practice.
Greene was recently named the starter for the Hawkeyes, and burst on to the scene against Florida International, rushing for a career high in yards. Iowa has had a recent history of being forced to dismiss talented players from its team for violating team rules, and Greene was no exception.

domersportsreport.blogspot.com 9/7/2008 — Notre Dame received its' third verbal commitment for the incoming class of 2009 over the weekend. He is Mike Broghammer out of Orono, Minnesota. The other two verbals for 2009 are 6-8 Jack Cooley from Illinois and 6-5 Joey Brooks out of Texas.
