Iowa-South Carolina: Hawkeyes Going Outback in Style

Here come the Hawks, I hope. Iowa will be the ninth bowl team South Carolina has played this season. The Gamecocks' 11th-ranked defense is one of the most underrated stats of the regular season's end—and it's the Hawkeyes who are going to learn this, the hard way, with hard hitting. I live in a dream world. I liked the way the Hawks started the year but from the time they played Iowa State until game time against Minnesota they appeared to be struggling, even when they won. They squeaked by Penn State and were lucky to escape Purdue's Curtis Painter. The opening moments of the Minnesota game were typical of college football 2008, the hardest hitting season I can remember; then, in that game, suddenly Iowa emerged with a game style rivaling America's best. Will Shonn Greene rush for 100 yards against South Carolina? The defense must stop the Gamecock air attack, not overlook their usually meager rushing game, and keep them off the field.
