Randy Moss had lost a step, that a malcontent like Moss might not fit in with New England's speak-no-evil choirboys, that Bill Belichick was ransoming his "core values" by trading for Moss in desperation, just months after the Patriots' 2006 playoff run ended with Tom Brady throwing to bargain-basement receivers such as Jabar Gaffney and Reche Whatshisname.
