Italy's penalty shootout problems return with loss

Italy's problems with penalties have returned. After winning the World Cup with a shootout victory over France two years ago, the Azzurri are back to the days that saw them eliminated from three consecutive World Cups on spot kicks. Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas saved penalties from Daniele De Rossi and Antonio Di Natale, and Cesc Fabregas scored the deciding spot kick to give Spain a 4-2 shootout win over Italy and a spot in the European Championship semifinals after a dull 0-0 draw Sunday.
