J.C. Romero Will Not Appeal His 50-Game Suspension
ESPN just posted a story indicating J.C. Romero will not appeal his 50-game suspension.
Huh?
Everything I have read seems to indicate he could easily appeal and avoid the suspension. Perhaps I am not the brightest when it comes to legal issues but I do not see why he would not appeal the suspension. Is it because he has already turned down a pair of deals in which the suspension would be reduced to 25 games if he had admitted guilt?
Is there really nothing Romero can do at this point? Or is Romero hiding something? It seems a little suspicious to me he won't attempt an appeal, but whatever the case is I am sure more will unfold in due time. It is still up in the air as to whether or not Romero will be available to play in the World Baseball Classic for Puerto Rico, which he had planned to do. If you ask me, none of the Phillies should participate, but that's another issue for another time.
As it stands now Romero will be allowed to participate in spring training and even play in games ...
