Multiple sources, including Twolves Blog and The Boston Celtics News Station are reporting that new Minnesota President of Basketball Operations David Kahn is considering Mark Jackson as a replacement for Kevin McHale.
Kahn has gone on record as saying that he will not look for a replacement for McHale until after the June 25 draft but according to Twolves Blog, multiple sources have told Pro Basketball News that Jackson, 44, is the leading candidate for the position and will likely wind up taking McHale's place on the sidelines.
Mark Jackson told reporter's that coaching has been "a dream of mine, like anyone who's ever played the point guard position and has been the extension of the coach on the floor. I've been tempted to run a show my entire life."
Mark Jackson has been lead analyst on ESPN/ABC for two years. If his work in the broadcast booth has acted as any sort of resume for scouting talent, player comparisons, and general basketball knowledge, I would say Jackson ...
