Jacobs eyes big payday at season's end

Brandon Jacobs has cut off all talks about a contract extension and will play out the final year of his contract with the Giants. And when that’s over, he expects to make them pay. The bruising, 6-4, 264-pound back arrived at training camp this morning and said he’s determined to prove the Giants were wrong for not breaking the bank for him this offseason because of concerns about his durability. He said he’s not upset or frustrated by their decision. He’s just even more motivated now by thoughts of a big payday at the end of this year. “Yes, it is a very motivating thing for me that I will get the chance to go out and play in the last year of my contract,” Jacobs said shortly after arriving at the University at Albany. “Not that I want to do it, because this is where I want to be, no doubt about it.
