Happy Fourth of July to all those here on Bleacher Report.  Please remember the troops and all they sacrifice to ensure our safety and way of life, because without them, all the scratching and squabbling in here would become moot. And now, for something completely different... The manager—and more specifically, the pitching coach—of the Los Angeles Dodgers are where one should look first when directing blame for the 7-4 loss on Jul. 4 to the San Diego Padres. The Padres are to be commended for their clutch hitting in the seventh and eighth innings—They earned this victory.  Closer Heath Bell extinguished the Dodger uprising in the eighth inning and earned his 23rd save of the season in fine fashion. But it is the drastic mismanagement of the pitching staff in those late frames which put San Diego in position to claim that victory. It was painfully obvious that Dodger reliever Ronald Belisario did not have his good stuff today. Hey, that happens in the majors. ... (link)
