The Chicago Cubs acquired Colorado Rockies infielder Jeff Baker for Minor League pitcher Alberto Alburquerque today. It's another huge splash in Jim Hendry's quest toward .500. Baker is currently batting .130 with three RBI and one stolen base. Baker went on the 15-day DL on Apr. 29 and was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 24, so he should fit in well with the Cubs motto of "get hurt early and often." Sam Fuld will most likely be sent down to make room for Baker, where he will get some playing time at second, third, outfield, bullpen, and perhaps a little manager work as well. He is white and can grow a decent beard, but unfortunately for shersey sales, he is not as small as Ryan Theriot or Mike Fontenot, so therefore cannot be considered scrappy. Shersey sales are estimated in the thousands instead of millions due to Baker's normal height of 6'2''.
