The big fella delivered a big mea culpa today.
NT Kris Jenkins, speaking to a crowd of reporters at his locker, admitted that he played an awful game Sunday against the Broncos. It wasn't exactly a revelation - after all, the Jets allowed 127 rushing yards, their second-worst day - but it's always nice when a player admits he had a bad game. From a journalistic standpoint, it would've been better after the game, or even Monday, but, hey, you can't have perfect timing on everything.
Here are a couple of snippets from Jenkins' confessional:
"I take full blame because I didn't get it done ... I gotta take it like a man and suck it up ... It was a hard pill to swallow."
Jenkins had an 85-pound advantage on undersized C Casey Wiegmann, but Jenkins acknowledged he didn't do a good job of shedding blocks. He credited Wiegmann's textbook technique for taking him out of his game. Jenkins said it was one of his worst games of the season, ranking it up there - or down there - with the Oakland loss. ...
