Jets add PK Mark (not Mike) Myers

 
The Jets added another leg to the roster today, signing former CFL PK Mark Myers. That’s Mark Myers, not Mike Myers, the funny man of “Austin Powers” fame. Presumably, Myers was signed to be a “camp leg,” not a serious threat to incumbent Mike Nugent - unless, of course, Nugent suffered an injury today on the first day of OTAs. (I’m not saying he’s hurt; it’s just that the timing is a bit curious.) Anyway, Myers kicked in three games for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He made five of six FG tries, including a game-winning 44-yarder against Calgary. Myers is originally from Florida, which may explain why he didn’t last that long in Canada. At Florida Atlantic University, from 2001 to 2004, he made 43 of 59 FG attempts, including a career-long of 53 yards.
