Jets might like Favre, but probably wont budge

 
Sorry for the late post, folks, but I was tied up with another story Friday, something about an aging quarterback perhaps coming to the Jets. Here’s my take on the Brett Favre situation: Do I think they’re interested? Yes. Do I think he’ll end up with the Jets? No. I think GM Mike Tannenbaum is doing what any good GM with a shaky QB situation should do: He’s checking out the availability of one of the greatest quarterbacks in history. Quarterbacks of Favre’s stature don’t become available too often, and I think he recognizes it’s a rare opportunity. Curiously, it took a while for the Jets to jump into the fray. Up until Tuesday, when colleague Gary Myers wrote a Favre column, the Jets weren’t interested. Obviously, something changed. But how much are they really interested?
