Jets Name Elmo "Coach in WaIting" (Humor)

 
With Mangini tottering, the Jets made an unexpected move today and announced a "coach in waiting." "For now Elmo will work as offensive play caller," said Coach Elmo.  "Elmo tell Brett Favre, 'throw, throw, throw.'  Elmo like football." When asked about how he applies to Rooney rule he said, "Jets same color as Elmo friend, Oscar.  Elmo like green." When asked again about Rooney rule coach Elmo said, "Throw ball far, Brett, Wheee..." When the Rooney rule, about minority interviews, was explained to him, coach Elmo replied, "I'm a monster.  I think that is a minority." When asked about Pennington, Elmo said, "Who?" When told he was the QB before Favre, Elmo said, "Elmo like Joe Namath.  Sesame Street Joe.  He could throw the ball far." On his qualifications he said, "Elmo think football is fun.  Elmo will hire Telly as an assistant and install Triangle offense."
