Jets sign pair of free agents

 
The Jets added a couple of free agents today, signing undrafted rookie CB Jonathan Zenon (Louisiana State) and first-year CB Kenny Patton (Hawaii). Zenon is an interesting prospect. He started 30 games at one of the best programs in the country, recording nine interceptions (three returned for touchdowns). Obviously, he has some ability. The big knock on him is his lack of speed, although he did run a 4.48 at the scouting combine. He auditioned for the Browns after the draft, but they apparently didn’t offer him a contract. Patton had a cup of coffee with the Raiders after going undrafted in 2007. Just call him the Karate Kid; he’s a first-degree black belt. Right now, cornerback has to be one of the Jets’ weakest positions. After Darrelle Revis, the top players on the depth chart are David Barrett (worked with the starters in last week’s OTAs), Hank Poteat (worked in the nickel), Justin Miller, rookie Dwight Lowery, Andre Woolfolk (hurt) and Drew Coleman - not ...
