Jets take aim at first place

Good morning, folks. It’s the Jets and Rams today at the Meadowlands, where the Jets hope to improve to 6-3. If the Patriots beat the Bills today in Foxborough, it’ll be Jets vs. Pats Thursday night for sole possession of first place. That has to be in the back of the Jets’ minds today as they face one of the worst teams in the league. The only news (if you could call it that) among the inactives is that Jay Feely will remain the kicker for at least another game. Not surprisingly, injured PK Mike Nugent is inactive, but he’s getting closer to returning and there’s no doubt that Feely is operating with no margin for error. If he makes a big mistake, and Nugent is well enough, it’ll be Nugent against the Patriots.
