Joba's fist pump controversy much ado about nothing

 
Greetings from the Northwest terminal at LaGuardia Airport. Pleasure to be here. Driving to the airport this morning, I heard a lot of talk on the radio about Joba’s supposed showing-up of David Dellucci yesterday in the eighth inning. I’m stunned this is considered such a big deal. If you’ve watched Joba pitch, you know he doesn’t exactly hide his emotions on the mound. He pumps his fist, makes noise and shows you precisely what he’s feeling as he’s feeling it. Dellucci isn’t the first hitter to prompt a Joba fist pump. Now, the one he did yesterday might have been a touch more enthusiastic than most, but can you blame him? Less than 48 hours before, Dellucci had tagged him for a three-run homer and his first blown save, and all Joba heard for the day or two after that was, “How will Joba respond?
