Lots going on in Yankeeland, with the big Red Sox series this weekend, and the trading deadline coming up. Hank Steinbrenner told the media before the Yanks’ big pre-trading-deadline powwow yesterday that the possibility of Barry Bonds in pinstripes would be discussed. But fortunately, it looks like it is unlikely that this will happen. As today’s Daily News points out , “Cashman said a few weeks ago that the Yankees already had too many players worth too much money at designated hitter to consider Bonds.”
Gee, ya think? The last thing the Yanks need is Bonds. Sure, he might hit a homer or two, but is he worth the headache he would bring? Unless the Bombers are trying to field an all-jerk team, I say no.
