Kaberle Might Be Out: Leafs Sign Another Blue-Liner

 
  Today the 'leafs signed free agent D-man Francois Beauchemin, he is the third defenceman the 'leafs have picked up since July first. All three defencemen are tough, strong, and block shots. Komisarek is a gritty blue-liner from Montreal, and Garnet Exelby was aquired in the Pavel Kubina deal. With the additions of Beauchemin, Komisarek, and Exelby the 'leafs now have 10 defenceman on the roster for next season. Tomas Kaberle, the longest serving leaf, may be the odd man out; his $4.25 million dollar salary is cheap for a player of his level and he's one of the top puck movers in the league. Kaberle will attract offers from all over the league, mainly from teams needing another defencman and with some top six forwards to trade. Boston had an offer of Phil Kessel and a draft pick for Kaberle, but the trade fell apart. Teams will need to give up a skilled forward like Kessel and probably a draft pick if they want to land Kaberle. If not, Kaberle maybe a guy like ... (link)
