Maybe this is old news to all of you, but I somehow missed this one. The Philadelphia 76ers signed free agent Kareem Rush to a contract in late July.
I'll have to credit my buddy Ryan Owens who tipped me off to this information at last night's Tiger Talk. R.O. has a vested interest in the Sixers considering one of their stars, Andre Iguodala, hails from his hometown of Springfield, Illinois.
This could be a big move for Rush's career if Philly lives up to their preseason hype. After signing Elton Brand, the Sixers are expected by many "experts" to compete for the Eastern Conference Championship. (Don't count me as one of them.)
When Rush was at Mizzou I was certain that he would be a solid NBA player someday. Then again I was a freshman in high school during his senior season, so at that point I wasn't exactly an expert on the subject of anything in general.
At any rate, it's good to add another name to the list of former Tigers in the NBA.
