Kerry Wood returns, may pitch today

MESA, Ariz. — Kerry Wood has returned to the Cubs’ pitching schedule today as suddenly as back spasms sidelined him Wednesday. He was tentatively scheduled for an inning of today’s game against the Colorado Rockies. If he doesn’t pitch today, the plan is to have him pitch an inning Friday on the minor-league side of camp.
