Killer Bees were present at the game between the Houston Astros and the San Diego Padres and, believe it or not, it had nothing to do with Jeff B agwell or Craig B iggio.
It should be noted, though, that Geoff B lum hit a homerun for the Astros. Lance B erkman added a double.
Ok, so it was actually a swarm of bees, the honey-loving flying insects. Their buzz was probably worse than their sting, and after they were removed the game resumed.
The result: Houston 7, San Diego 2.
Houston took 3 of 4 games in this series, startling since Houston long has struggled in San Diego.
At 38-39, Houston is one game under .500 in what's becoming, once again, the N.L. Comedy Central.
Wandy Rodriguez must've solved the pitch tipping problem as he went 7 innings, allowing one run, 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.
Tonight, its a late west coast game as Houston travels to AT&T Park to take on the San Francisco Giants.
