Tonight, the Sacramento Kings (5-8) hosted the Portland Trail Blazers (7-5). Sacramento had won its’ previous three games against Portland.
Portland came in led by their great young core of Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge and rookie phenom Greg Oden. Sacramento came in following a big win over New Orleans on Wednesday night.
Sacramento played yet again without star guard Kevin Martin and reserve Francisco Garcia. Forward Mikki Moore also missed his third straight game due to injury. Rookies Jason Thompson and Donte Green started in place of Martin and Moore.
Portland was playing without guard Martell Webster.
The Blazers came out hot behind nine first quarter points from Steve Blake and led 28-25 at the end of one.
The Blazers kept the pressure on in the second quarter and led 57-51 at the half. LaMarcus Aldridge had success posting up and had 15 points. Greg Oden had just two points and four rebounds in eight first half minutes.
