Klesko retires after 16 years in majors (AP)

 
Ryan Klesko is retiring after 16 seasons in the major leagues, agent Joe Sambito said Friday. Klesko, an All-Star in 2001 with San Diego, hit .260 last season with six homers and 44 RBIs in 362 at-bats for the San Francisco Giants. He played in only six games the previous year for the Padres because of shoulder surgery. [link]
