Sacha Kljestan and Atiba Harris scored on either side of halftime, and Chivas USA won its home opener over Real Salt Lake 3-1 on Saturday night. Chivas improved to 6-0-1 all-time against Real Salt Lake at Home Depot Center. Kenny Deuchar scored Real Salt Lake's goal in the 57th minute, while Alecko Eskandarian put the game away with a stoppage-time goal.

After going down 2-0 before the hour mark, it would have been easy for Real Salt Lake to concede defeat yet one more time against Chivas USA. Instead, RSL battled back and cut Chivas USA's lead in half two minutes later before ultimately falling 3-1.
