L.I. Lutheran enlists another touted transfer

 
Junior swingman Tobias Harris, the top player on Long Island, has formalized his long-rumored transfer from Half Hollow Hills West to Long Island Lutheran, ending nearly three months of speculation. “I definitely feel good,” Harris said in a text message. Harris said he made the move because he wanted to face better competition. As a sophomore last season, he led the Dix Hills school to an undefeated finish and the Section XI Class AA championship, but he easily overpowered opponents with his 6-8 frame. At Lutheran, Harris will face more New York City opponents (last year, the Crusaders played Molloy, Wadleigh and Mount Vernon, among others, in non-league play), as well as a handful of solid tournament dates. Harris will join guard Ashcraf Yacoubou, another touted transfer from recently dismantled American Christian Prep, to form a dangerous inside-outside combo in Brookville.
