Lakers' Ariza sidelined; Mbenga signs

Lakers forward Trevor Ariza will be out for an undetermined time because of a broken right foot. The team already is without center Andrew Bynum, who is sidelined until at least mid-March with a knee injury. Los Angeles signed free-agent center DJ Mbenga to a 10-day contract Monday. The 7-footer from the Congo was released by Golden State on Jan. 6. Ariza fractured a bone at practice Sunday and was to see a foot specialist Monday to learn when he might return. He is averaging 6.5 points and 3. (link)
