Lance checking out Kansas this weekend

Lance Stephenson from Lincoln, the most gifted player in our city in more than a decade, will play with the powerful Atlanta Celtics travel team this weekend in the annual Jayhawk Invitational at Kansas, then visit the school unofficially after the tournament ends. We love watching this kid play. It should be interesting to see how he meshes with 6-9 Derrick Favors of Atlanta Southwestern, a veteran Celtics’ player who should challenge Stephenson for National Prep Player of the Year next season. • Notre Dame, which should start life next year as a preseason Top 10, continues to delve into the transfer market. The Irish, who just picked up a quality guard in Ben Hansbrough - Tyler’s little brother - as a transfer from Mississippi State, are right in the mix for 6-8 forward Scott Martin, who started for Purdue as a freshman, averaging 8.3 points for a rising Big Ten power. Martin will visit campus this weekend. [link]

The Rose Curtain

The mainstream media can dub the Big Ten, Pac 10 Rose Bowl alliance as the ‘Axis of Obstruction’ all they want.
