Dodgers rookie infielder Andy LaRoche will undergo surgery in Los Angeles to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb, and he will be sidelined for eight to 10 weeks after suffering a freak injury in Friday's 6-4 exhibition loss to the Cardinals.
