Leafs-Thrashers: Breath Of Fresh Air as Justin Pogge Wins NHL Debut

 
The Leafs may have just received what the doctor ordered—their young goalie prospect Justin Pogge came up with a big win and a solid effort in his NHL Debut. Butterflies and all, Pogge stood tall in the Leafs net, thumping the Thrashers on their home ice to the tune of 6-2. Pogge finally got his chance—and he made very sure he was going to take advantage of it. I for one have been waiting a long time to see if the Leafs were ever going to give this kid a chance after picking Pogge first in the draft in 2004-05. The Leafs played another solid game on hostile ice, and it seemed very clear they were not going to let their young goalie down. If I was Ron Wilson, Pogge would be getting the nod for next game also. If Pogge continues to play well, it will also force Toskala to sharpen up.
