LIVE First Half Analysis from Houston Regional Final

Story of the first half here in Houston is the Memphis Tigers defense. Willie Kemp is playing phenominal defense on Texas sharp-shooter A.J. Abrams, limiting him to just 1-of-5 shooting for 2 points, and Derrick Rose has held D.J. Augustin to 1-of-7 shooting. On the offensive end, Memphis appears to be too athletic for the Longhorns to handle. Both Connor Atchley and Damion James picked up two fouls in the first half trying to guard the Tigers athletic front-court, limiting their production. Rose is a phenominal player, playing through a right-eye injury sustained in Friday's win over Michigan State. You'll see Rose come out of the game every once in awhile, so the trainers can apply more glue to the deep cut. One thing to watch for -- if Memphis goes through a scoring drought like they did in the MSU game, Texas can get back into it. As good as the Tigers played, they are only up 11. [link]
