Longtime powerhouses scramble for NCAAs (AP)

In many years, Arizona, Kentucky, Maryland and Syracuse would be a strong Final Four. This year, it might be the NIT Final Four. As the regular season winds down and conference tournaments tip off, the Terrapins, Orange and Wildcats -- the Arizona and Kentucky varieties -- are in bubble trouble. If pedigree were all that matters, they'd have nothing to worry about on Selection Sunday.

If you don’t know who God Shammgod is then you are either under the age of 16 or not a true college basketball fan. It was God’s Providence team and not perennial powerhouses Kansas, Kentucky, and UNC that provided 1997 champion Arizona with their stiffest challenge of the tournament. In fact the Friars were one missed 15 footer away from reaching the Final 4 as a #10 seed.Vols Win Ugly Against Kentucky

Well, I've had better Saturdays. Throw in the fact that the SU Tennis team lost and the Softball team lost (twice), Syracuse Athletics has seen many better days as well. Let's start with men's basketball where I think it's pretty fair to officially say we are returning to the NIT for the second straight year. 11th in the Big East with a 17-12 (7-9) record and an RPI at 56 seals the deal. ...ESPN Unmoved By Greg Robinson's Feelings On The Future

When some stupid blog like Troy Nunes Is An Absolute Magician, clearly run by a loser who lives in his parent's basement and blogs in his unkempt underwear, says that Greg Robinson needs to be fired, that's one thing. It's easy to dismiss the rantings of this jerk, a clearly handsome jerk at that, but a jerk nonetheless. But what do you do when ESPN starts calling for his head?Jack Allen Has A Thing Or Two To Say About Jack Allen's Ordeal

When I first saw the title of this article I seriously thought to myself "Wow, I had no idea Usher was such a big SU fan." A multi-platinum recording artist may not actually be at the center of this brew-ha-ha but then again, whose to say that the usher in question isn't "in the club with his homies trying to get a little VI?" That usher is, er, was Jack Allen. The 78-year-old Korean War ...
