Prospect Wayne Simmonds scored a power-play goal midway through the third period to give the Los Angeles Kings a 2-1 victory over the St. Louis Blues in front of over 11,000 fans in Kansas City Monday.
The Kings followed up that win with a 6-4 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes. The game featured a lot of physical play along with the high scoring. David Meckler and Oscar Moller each enjoyed a three-point night in the win.
The Kings will head to Colorado for a Wednesday night matchup before flying off to Las Vegas to play Colorado again at Frozen Fury XI.
Yours truly will be in Vegas for the festivities, along with the thousands of Kings fans (and hopefully Patrick O'Sullivan) who make the trip annually.
Friday night will feature a charity poker tournament hosted by Luc and Stacia Robitaille. This will be my second year participating in this event. Saturday night will be the game and I'll be back next week with all the details.
