LSU Tigers Open 2008 Fall Practice: Who Has Impressed?

 
Even with Tropical Storm Edouard rolling through, LSU opened up its football practice with two split-squad sessions on Monday. The same will happen on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, before a full-squad practice on Friday. During the morning session, sophomore Andrew Hatch and redshirt freshman Jarrett Lee shared the snaps. In the afternoon, it was true freshman Jordan Jefferson who controlled the offense. Head coach Les Miles said he was particularly impressed with Jefferson. "I liked the way Jordan Jefferson, the freshman quarterback, learns," Miles told The Daily Comet . "He picks it up pretty quickly. I was surprised with how well he handled everything." Coach Miles also said he was surprised by the new wide receivers, including Chris Tolliver and Tim Molton. Another important note on Monday's practice is that it marked the return of Charles Alexander to the practice field.
