The man accused of shooting Jacksonville Jaguar, Richard Collier, entered a not guilty plea during his arraignment on Monday.
Collier was shot 14 times while he and former teammate Kenny Pettway waited for two women at an apartment in Riverside.
Tyrone Romaro Hartsfield, 32, enter pleas of not guilty on charges of attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police believe that Hartsfield shot Collier on September 2nd in retaliation for an altercation that occurred in April. Hartsfield filed a police report against Collier stating that Collier had assaulted him while at a nightclub in April.
Collier had his left leg amputated below the knee and is paralyzed below the waist. Collier was in the hospital for over a month and is currently recuperating at an undisclosed location.
The pretrial hearing is set for December 1st.
