Mariners ride fast first to win over A's

Left-hander Ryan Rowland-Smith ended a solid season as a starting pitcher on Saturday afternoon, holding the Athletics to three runs over 6 2/3 innings as the Mariners beat Oakland, 7-3, in front of 24,440 at Safeco Field.
