Mavs upgrade Nowitzki to day-to-day

The Dallas Mavericks upgraded the injury status of Dirk Nowitzki to day-to-day on Tuesday, the eve of a pivotal Western Conference game against Golden State. The reigning MVP, who has been out since spraining his left ankle and knee March 23, would be re-evaluated Wednesday to see if he can play against the Warriors. The Mavs (46-28) began Tuesday a half-game ahead of Golden State for the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference. The Warriors play at San Antonio on Tuesday night. (link)
