Meet Jarrett Lee

 
Jarrett Lee (No. 12, above) is LSU's starter. Coach Les Miles may tell you differently, but for now, Lee is the starter. Lee comes from the Lone Star State. Texas, which has been the home of another recent LSU quarterback, Matt Flynn, who led the Tigers to the BCS National Championship Game in his senior year. Last year, Lee was the third quarterback, behind Matt Flynn, and redshirted sophomore Ryan Perriloux. All three of these players were highly recruited coming out of high school. Lee redshirted the 2007 season, so he is now considered a redshirt freshman, though he is only 19 years old. Perriloux was going to be the starter this year; Lee and Andrew Hatch were going to be his backups and learn how to play the quarterback position in the SEC.  But, Perriloux was kicked off of the team, resulting in Lee and Hatch competing for the quarterback position.
