Mets 9, Brewers 2: Sweep in Milwaukee

 
Ryan Church slugged a grand slam during a six-run first inning and the Mets swept the Brewers with a 9-2 win at Miller Park on Wednesday. Here are some tidbits. Church hadn’t gone deep since June 1 off the Dodgers’ Hiroki Kuroda , which had led to pregame ribbing from Carlos Delgado . Billy Wagner tossed a bullpen session at Shea. He’ll repeat that on Friday before facing batters later in the weekend, Tony Bernazard said. Mets officials prefer Wagner face minor-leaguers to a simulated game. As the Daily News reported in Wednesday’s editions, Wagner appears on track to return Tuesday against the Nationals. Jerry Manuel may have missed the boat not inserting a call-up in for the ninth inning with a seven-run lead. Manuel suggested he’s had to sweat out so many games this year, he wanted to relax.
