Mets not happy about ex-Met Milledge's comments
JUPITER, Fla. - The Mets were patient with Lastings Milledge along his bumpy learning curve and tolerated plenty of headaches from his off-the-field conduct. But now that Milledge is a member of the Nationals, and again is taking shots at his former team, the Mets are through putting up with his behavior. He's not their problem anymore. [link]

THE FRIDAY SPEW

As you all know I’m no fan of the team in the South Bronx but today I ask you to say a prayer for Bobby Murcer.   Today is the unveiling of Johan Santana and the game is on SNY which means I have to hope the pizzeria on Murray St has a the game on TV during my lunch hour.   When D-Wright tells you to shut the fuck up well it’s time for you to shut the fuck up.   So let me see if I understand this, Billy Wags is a no good red ass when he ...

Church, Milledge Vent Against Former Teams

First up, Mr. Church: They’d play me, sit me, play me, make a trade, sit me… It’s a business, and I totally understand that, and not everybody is going to like it. But I think I lost about 100-something at-bats, and there was a reason for that. People who were there know [what that reason ...

... According to David Lennon at Newsday.com, the Mets have finally had it with Lastings Milledge. As you may remember (especially because he keeps reminding the media) Milledge had a rocky road during his time with the Mets. Milledge felt singled out by the team’s veteran players, but David Wright, who is only 3 years out of his rookie season, disagreed, saying: ...

Federalbaseball.com Memo to David Wright: Keep Lastings Milledge's Name Out Your Mouth.

... lot of veterans [on the Mets] didn't like the way I play the game. They thought I didn't respect it...But the vets here have no problem with me. They know I respect it. They know I work hard. "'...I can't go through anything worse than I went through in New York. It only gets better from here.'" Mr. Donovan's article was published on Tuesday 2/26/08, but it wasn't until three days laters, on Friday, 2/29/08, that a response to Milledge's comments came from the Mets in an article by David Lennon at newsday.com entitled, "Mets not happy about ex-Met Milledge's comments", ...
