Mets, Phils take rivalry national on FOX

A day after the marquee match up between Cole Hamels and Johan Santana, the Phillies and Mets will duel again at Citizens Bank Park in another battle of lefties to be broadcast on FOX.

The Mets took the first series between the two at Shea, but round two will begin today in the battle between the Phillies and the Mets. The New York Mets got stellar performances from Johan Santana and David Wright Friday night, as they led the entire game, by varying scores, and eventually beat the Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 6-4.Santana outdeuls Hamels, Mets win 6-4

For seven innings, the Johan Santana/Cole Hamels showdown was the duel that everyone expected it to be. Heading into the top of the 8th, the Mets held a 2-1 lead over the Phils, but from there Hamels failed to keep up his end of the duel. He loaded the bases on a pair of hits and a walk, forcing the Phillies to turn to their bullpen, which was unable to hold down the Mets who scored 3 runs....
