Michigan-Illinois: No. 23 Wolverines Take Down Illini
Recently, the No. 28 Illinois Fighting Illini—yes even after last year I said No. 28—toppled No. 10 Purdue. Unfortunately, I was not able to watch this game because I went out to dinner with my family, but I did see highlights.
The Fighting Illini started off to a quick 6-1 start. The Illini never gave up. Their highest deficit was only four points, and their highest lead, only seven. This was an even game for almost the whole time.
But this game isn't what I'm going to talk about. The No. 23 Michigan Wolverines crushed the Illini's chances of being in the AP Top 25. Illinois was ranked No. 28 and just beat Purdue, so they were a lock for the AP Top 25, all they had to do...Beat the surprisingly good Wolverines. Which, unfortunately, didn't happen.
The Illini, leading by one at half, couldn't hold it and lost 74-64. Demetri McCamey had a double-double, with 11 points and 10 assists.
Hopefully, the Illini can strap it together and win against Indiana on Jan. 10 at 2:00 PM, a game ...
