Mitchell close to choosing school

 
Mount Vernon grad Jonathan Mitchell is coming home. Soon. The sophomore forward, who decided to transfer away from Florida after spending the last two seasons languishing on the bench, is expected to decide on his next destination sometime next week, said Herb Mitchell, Jonathan’s uncle. “We haven’t made a decision yet,” Herb said. “But we should soon.” Mitchell arrived home from Gainesville after finishing classes a few weeks ago, and he’s since visited Seton Hall and Rutgers. His most recent visit was to Rutgers on Monday and Tuesday, where he was hosted by former Mount Vernon teammate and current Scarlet Knights point guard Mike Coburn. Herb says Mitchell enjoyed both visits. “We liked both schools,” he said. “Now, we need to sit down and see how they want to use Jonathan and where he’ll fit. Both schools have different offenses, but Jonathan is versatile enough to fit either system.” Herb said few ... [link]
