Mitchell picks Rutgers

Jonathan Mitchell is headed for Rutgers next season. The 6-7 forward from Mount Vernon, a former New York State Mr. Basketball, chose the Scarlet Knights over Seton Hall and Marshall a month after deciding to transfer from Florida. “In the end it just came down to where he felt the most comfortable,” said Herb Mitchell, Jonathan’s uncle. “With the coach, the players and the style of play. This was the right fit.” MItchell is a good get for Fred Hill in what’s shaped up to be a solid recruiting class. He joins McDonald’s All-American Mike Rosario, South Kent big man Christian Morris and Boys & Girls HS swingman Pat Jackson, although Mitchell must sit out next season per NCAA transfer rules. - by Ebenezer Samuel [link]
