MLB Opening Day: Tribe Takes Down White Sox

 
I was sitting in the Capital sports information office this afternoon with my boss Lenny, watching the start of the Indians season opener, when our softball coach walked in. “It’s sunny? In Cleveland? In March?” she asked, dumbfounded. “It’s always sunny in Cleveland,” Lenny responded. Indeed it is. What’s more beautiful than a 10-8 victory in the opener over the White Sox? I mean, besides C.C. struggling and Victor pulling up lamer than Barbaro, that is? (Too soon? Too soon?) What a game. The Tribe hammered Mark Buehrle to the tune of seven runs in less than two innings. Then the bats were shut down by Nick Masset, the same Nick Masset who had a sparkling ERA of 7.09 last year, and it took a crazy end sequence to pull out the win. Yup, just your ordinary, run-of-the-mill victory for the Tribe.
