Establishing continuity in a sports organization is a priority, but championship teams make it a top priority. The Boston Red Sox have believed in the players around them and have ridden the coattails of their World Series championships. They have maintained a similar style throughout their successful seasons.   Building around hard-working, devoted players has become the “Boston Brand.” They have a unique belief in committing to the nucleus of the team and coupling them with role players. Dustin Pedroia became the newest addition to the heart and soul of the Red Sox.   Dustin Pedroia was titled Major League Baseball’s Most Valuable Player less than a month ago. Dec. 3, 2008 the Boston Red Sox held a press conference for the team's second baseman and inked him to a six year, $40.5 million contract.    In 2007, Pedroia began the season in a platoon role.
