Morning Skate Update (Update)

 
No surprises this morning -- if you don't count Shaone Morrisonn firing a slap shot in my direction, knocking my coffee off the dasher boards and putting a star crack in the notoriously weak plexi glass here at KCI. Otherwise, the biggest development was that Tomas Fleischmann and Sergei Fedorov remain on track to return this weekend, according to Coach Bruce Boudreau. Looks like both could be back for Friday's game against the Blue Jackets. When Fedorov (and his $4 million salary) comes off LTIR, the Caps will have to make a roster move in order to keep defenseman Karl Alzner in Washington. It could make for a very tough decision for GM George McPhee. Fedorov is a legend, and when he was healthy earlier this season, he was nearly a point per game player (four goals, eight assists in 15 games). But Alzner has made a strong case to (link)
