MRI confirms Wills hyperextended right knee

Detroit Tigers left-hander Dontrelle Willis was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday after an MRI confirmed that he has a hyperextended right knee. Willis injured the knee while delivering a pitch in the first inning Friday night against the Chicago White Sox and minutes later was taken out of the game. "We know he's going to miss at least one start and we don't want to take any chances with it," Detroit general manager Dave Dombrowski said after a 7-0 loss to the White Sox on Saturday. [link]
